With 25 years of experience, Gold has played an instrumental role in retaining, attracting, and expanding businesses throughout Connecticut. As a representative of DECD, she serves on numerous local and regional boards, agencies, and government organizations, helping constituents bridge communication gaps with government leaders. Gold’s work also extends to workforce development and education, where she holds key positions on influential councils, including the Workforce Investment Boards, the STEM Council, and the Governor’s Commission on Women and Girls.

Before her work at DECD, Gold built a distinguished career in business and community relations. She led development initiatives for the Connecticut State Office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit by successfully managing and selling three businesses earlier in her career.

In addition to her professional achievements, Gold is deeply committed to civic engagement. She serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Gateway Community College Foundation, the United Way of Greater New Haven, and the state board of the Anti-Defamation League. Her community leadership also extends to the Southern Connecticut State University Foundation, the Housatonic Community College Foundation, and the Amour Propre Foundation, which she founded in 2019 to support women’s leadership, education, and health initiatives.

"Lindy’s impact on Connecticut extends far beyond her professional accomplishments," said Elizabeth Walden, President of PRSA CT. "Her dedication to civic engagement, advocacy for equitable workforce development, and leadership in both business and community development make her an extraordinary role model. She exemplifies the true spirit of the Beacon Award."

The PRSA CT Beacon Award honors individuals who champion the power of communication to build meaningful connections within their communities. Lindy Lee Gold's efforts have helped foster business success, strengthen community ties, and promote workforce development, making her an ideal recipient of this esteemed award.
