The impact and importance of mastering the use of social media as part of public relations is a given, but how effective is your social media strategy? Understanding the basics of social media analytics is the key to answering that question. This event offered participants with practical, foundational skills that can be applied immediately by reviewing an introduction to analytics in reporting social media return on investment and optimizing content strategies.

The featured speaker of this event was Mary E. Dunn, Assistant Professor of Advertising at Quinnipiac University. As a professor in the Department of Strategic Communication, Mary teaches courses on advertising and integrated communications, social media, and media planning. Her research centers on transparency in native advertising, media effects on audiences, and analytic attribution modeling.

If already know the basics of the analytical side of social media, this recording will be a great refresher. Additionally, you will receive access to Mary E. Dunn’s presentation slides and a list of 39 suggested digital marketing certifications that can help bridge the gap between the classroom and the industry.

Elevating your virtual event management skills has become critical to working within our “new normal.” From routine meetings and presentations, to press conferences, hearings, lectures, fundraisers and community outreach—you need to be able to successfully captivate your audience with imagery and information that, until this year, has been delivered in-person.

The expert presenters, Kate Copeland and Anne Hill of UConn’s Office of University Events and Conference Services, have led some of the region’s most highly regarded in-person and virtual events and conferences—greatly enhancing the University’s national profile as a premier destination for professional and academic gatherings.

During this 90-minute presentation and Q&A, Copeland and Hill guides us through their proven virtual event management strategies, which help you to work efficiently with your internal and external partners as you deliver an unforgettable experience for your attendees on the other side of the screen.

The show must go on! Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn how magic is made.

October 2020

Our most popular Zoom event!

This "Meet the Media" event featured representatives from CT media discussing their outlet’s news priorities, how those priorities have changed during the pandemic, as well as what they see as the path forward and how PR professionals can help them on that path. Our guest speakers are: Rick Green, Director of Content at the Hartford Courant; Jeff Cohen, News Director, Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR); and Sarah Cody, Reporter and Anchor with WTNH News 8. The special expanded 90-minute agenda will include remarks from each guest followed by Q&A.

November 2020

This 45-minute event featured Dennis House, former WFSB-TV3 anchor and host of the top-rated local Sunday news program “Face the State.” House, who is also a longtime advocate for the city of Hartford, recently left WFSB after 28 years at the station.

In our conversation, we discussed how television news has changed since he joined WFSB in 1992, his thoughts on covering the pandemic, where TV news is headed, what’s next for him, & more. The event included a Q&A.
